Best Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Mods

Enhance XCX: DE With Great Mods

It’s been a good while since Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition dropped on Switch, and there have been a fair number of people already working on some mods for the emulators. In case you are new to this stuff, I recommend checking out our guide for Installing Mods on Switch Emulators.

Some of the mods listed here were made for the first patch of the game, which is 1.0.1, and there have been update or two updates after that, depending on which Xenoblade Chronicles X version you have will have an impact on whether those mods will actually work, so choose carefully. The majority of the mods here are tested with Citron and Yuzu; there are obviously some exclusives that are made for Ryujinx exclusively, too – also, all of these are for Switch, not for the CEMU Wii U version.

60 FPS Mod & 30 FPS Mod

Probably the most essential mod I really recommend for this game is the FPS Mod that comes with two different variations. One version is 60 FPS permanently everywhere in the game, and the other is 60 FPS + 30 FPS Cutscenes, which is there to give more of a cinematic feel to this game – but honestly, I think the cutscenes and cinematics do look decent in 60 FPS as well.

Level Of Detail + Widescreen Mod

Now, if you are playing on a very wide monitor, you might want to consider getting a widescreen mod like this, it doesn’t look too good on your average 16:9 monitor settings, but I’m sure there might be a niche audience who prefer to play this game on this type of setting. Level of detail does some changes on how the game looks, this can be quite minuscule, but it’s something that a lot of people who are nitpicky will care about.

Loot Mods

Equipment systems in this game aren’t the most to hassle around with, especially when it comes to loot that you get from battles, too. These mods help organize your stuff better and make auto-equipping more convenient, too, perhaps a mod best suited for people who have a better grasp of this game’s systems.

LootEquipmentsBestQuality : force primordial equipment with 3 augments (and only 1 free slot as the game does not seem to allow cheat equipment with 3 augments and 3 free slots)

LootEquipmentsForceCount : force 3 equipments looted per treasure

LootEquipmentsForceType : force type of equipment (ground weapon or Armor) and subtype

LootEquipmentsIgnoreBroken : remove broken equipment

LootTreasureQuality : force gold treasure

Moon Jump

Another mod that makes exploration a lot better and fun early game is the Moon Jump. There are two people who have made versions out of the Moon Jump, but in this case, we are going to link to StevensND’s version as that’s the one we were testing. This can also be enabled via Cheat Engine.

Cheat Engine

One of the best ways to make small quality of life changes to the game, or any game really, is the Cheat Engine, which edits the Hex code in the game, allowing you to change number values in the game. This has multi-purpose usage, so you can change your character’s health to Infinite HP, Max Money, Max Class experience, change Miranium amount, and many other things you can really think of when it comes to numbers.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Mods in Action

If you want to see a lot of the mods in action, you can watch our review of the game above. We also have another video feature, which we had to upload to Rumble due to Nintendo not allowing us to post mod-related content on YouTube regarding Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition X (Yeah, censorship sucks). As more time goes on, there probably might be more mods dropping out that will perhaps do a lot more drastic overhauls and changes.
